Cell free DNA or circulating free DNA (cfDNA) are degraded DNA fragments present in human plasma and liquid biopsies. Their role as a source of disease biomarkers, namely in cancer, highlights the need for standardized and effective methods of isolation for downstream applications, including qPCR and sequencing.
