CD30 is never easy to detect by flow cytometry! This PE-conjugate is the best one I have found. It is not easy to optimize because it is really hard to get cells that are CD30+. But this antibody performs well.

Results Summary

The results displayed in the image show a nice negative population (normal lymphocytes), and a population of CD30+ cells that are clearly higher on side scatter. These are Reed-Sternberg cells identified in the setting of Hodgkin Lymphoma.

Summary

The Good

Specific antibody. Bright fluorochrome.

The Bad

Hard to optimize. May need to use 20 uL per test.

The Bottom Line

This is an antibody that your lab will probably use infrequently, but it works! Therefore, it is worth the investment.
