We study circulating metabolites that regulate organismal physiology. We recently identified a few metabolites that are selectively induced upon infection in mice. We used this buffer to isolate monocytes from peripheral blood to test the effects of metabolites on monocytes in vitro.

We were able to isolate decent amount of monocytes from peripheral blood of human subjects using this ket and determined the pro-inflammatory effects of two metabolites.

This is great buffer for isolating monocytes from peripheral blood of humans. Have not tried in mouse blood.
