We need a cell line that is appropriate to represent placental endothelial cells. We are using these HPVECs. Passage 5 they start to slow down and change morphology, and we haven't reached P10 yet as per manufacturer recommendations. Overall, they are easy to grow especially at earlier passages.
Cell culture

Fibronectin coating for flasks 1 hr before plating.
They look great and observe proper morphology at earlier passages. Stains well for VE cadherin and MUC18.
Appropriate representation for endothelial cells in the placenta.
Finicky by >P5.
Overall, make a lot of stocks at earlier passages so you can use those when you reach halfway of the guaranteed passage life (P10).
