MassHunter Quantitative Analysis with Quant-My-Way

Having efficient software that provides answers quickly is essential in the lab.  When software can be customized, additional efficiency can be gained by adding or removing features for specific workflows or for specific users types.

Using the Quant-My-Way feature, customization of the software adds or removes menu items which can be tailored towards a specific user or a specific workflow. We call these customized quant applications, "flavors". As you can see here, there are three different quant applications. Let's go over how to create a custom flavor.

Using the Quant My Way Flavor set up tool, first, the home directory must be specified or created. Since these flavors already exist, we can select one for customization. Let's look at the Pesticides in Spinach flavor.

After choosing the flavor, the flavor settings menu is selected. In this example, we are going to edit the Ribbon Settings. On the right, you can see the three menu items that appear in the ribbon: File, Home, and View. Let's remove the View menu item. Simply select "View", then select "Remove". It's that easy.

To test a customization, go back to the Flavor Root. Select "Yes" to save the settings. Then click the "test" button. You will see Quant load up with the new menu items. If you compare the flavor that we just created to an existing flavor, you will see the that the View menu item is not present, nor is Methods or Tools.

As an added benefit, customizing the user interface reduces human errors by showing only the features required to perform the analysis.  Once a custom flavor has been created,  it can be shared across all the analysts in the lab.

MassHunter Quantitative Analysis with Quant-My-Way customization is a fast and easy way to customize the software allowing uses to be efficient in their daily work.
